Katie & Luke’s The Copse Wedding
Incredible Venue ✓ Smoke Bombs ✓ Elvis Impersonator ✓
Katie and Luke got married at The Copse, a really stunning venue and pretty much unlike any other venue I’ve been to so far. The Copse is a beautiful house nestled between overflowing gardens, trees and ponds. Hidden away in the Chiltern Hills nearby Henley-on-Thames, the former family home (the owners found its wedding potential after hosting their kid’s weddings), it acts as a canvas to fill with everything you could want for your wedding, and Katie and Luke did a wonderful job of putting on a truly unique wedding there. It was a beautiful day, the wedding weather gods have been kind to me this summer, definitely a profession that benefits from heatwaves and draughts.
The Copse was a perfect fit for a couple with a ton of ideas for their day; from their great choice of wedding attire (Katie in a gold dress and Luke in a casual blue suit with the worlds largest button hole flower) to the fact they bought along an Elvis impersonator/DJ to kick off the party in the evening, but one of my favourite parts was the inclusion of smoke bombs. That was one of those things mentioned at our initial meeting that I was so excited for, and it absolutely lived up to all my expectations – bringing loads of energy to large group shot, and then we kept some behind for portraits and for the bridesmaids to dance around in the evening. For any 2019 couples reading – bring smoke bombs. I’m also a sucker for dogs at weddings, and Katie and Luke’s was there for every important moment. Hanging out with the girls and guys pre ceremony, walking down the aisle (well carried down the aisle) and signing the register.
There’s loads of inspiring bits that couples can pull from Katie and Luke’s wedding, a day which perfectly conveyed the couple. Here’s a snippet from a lovely message I received from Katie after receiving their photos;
“They’re amazing!! Thank you very much for capturing the day so brilliantly! I cried at some of them, there’s some really beautiful moments.”
As ever I’ve included a list of suppliers under the photos. Congratulations Katie & Luke!

I think that’s it! I can’t think of any others… flowers for the tables were bought by my friends/some from supermarkets/some from grandmas garden. Oh, bouquets and button holes were from Bourne End flower market.
